Highlights of the play meeting
- Leanna Lanier watch Magnus Lauglo construct another castle. This castle had very nice slit windows. Leanna was crocheting squares for a larger project. She also does stained glass and thinks about sewing her own clothes.
- Jim Foulds came equipped with an army of jet pack wearing storm troopers. Joe Meno responded to the challenge with a handful of his own creations.
- There were two black crafts with either water skis or really big feet. There was also a small flyer with a bunch of electronics and gauges under wing covers.
- We had several nice trains and cars, some of which were covered in real wood (is this brick modifications or not?).
- Mike Harrod also brought a train but, since it was a stock LEGO train I didn't get a picture, but it's always nice to have trains actually running at our meetings.
- Joe Meno built a Nutcracker and rocking horse ornaments as examples of what we can put on the wreath we are donating to the Festival Of Trees event.
- Mike Harrod was attempting to assemble our wreath for the Festival Of Trees from the LDraw example.
- Brian Gefrich had an X-Pod and a very small robot head (no pics here).
- Adam Silcott came with several mecha and we spent some time discussing the merits of attaching a large gun to one of the mecha. He also built a very tiny mecha, attempting to come up with a mecha that would be the appropriate scale for Jeff Stembel's space ship.
- Tony Perez showed off his booty from the Pick-A-Brick.
- Philip Moyer came with a big box containing many good deals that he got during the recent Toys R Us sale and spent the meeting building several of them.
- Fradel Gonzales apparently need to switch to a low caffeine beverage :-) He was overly excited at finding just the right minifig to represent Nate Jacobs.
Highlights of the business meeting
- Elections were held and the new officers are as follows: Jim Foulds for Chairperson, Joe Meno for Bookkeeper, and Christina Hitchcock for Public Relations. Congratulations to the new board and many thanks to the outgoing board for their service.
- The purchase of the WAMALUG Polo shirts is progressing. I have narrowed the choices to three vendors. Two polls have been set up to determine the size and number of shirts for the subsidized shirts and any additional shirts. The next step is to provide this information to the vendors and obtain pricing information. Then we can pick a vendor and place the order.
- We are probably on track for the November 19-21, 2004 Greenburg Train Show but need confirmation from Bob Hayes.
- Todd Thuma was voted in as a new member. Congratulations Todd!
