Highlights of the play meeting
- We stared by prototyping the loop around Constantine's metro station.
Constantine was running his four car metro train around the station.
- Constantine also added a metro station entrance to go with his
metro station — complete with a large number of newspaper
vending machines.
- Roy arrived with his train station so we created a run of track
to pass under the new pool table (very elagant) to connect another
loop. He also brought a flower cart vendor, a Shell storage tank,
a burger joint, and a propane tank refilling station (or a mustand
and ketsup supply dump)
- Margaret brought her prototype of the "antique LEGO train display
and much time was spent making sure the monorail would run successfully
through the center. After a few minor adjustments itt looks like
it will work fine."
- Margaret also had a pedestrian overpass for minifigs to cross
safely over the train tracks.
- Mike brought his version of the My Own Train which we ran. He
also brought a few buildings in process — a SAND RED (not
PINK) observation tower, a multi colored little building (maybe
a paint store), and a small yello building.
- Towards the end of the meeting we all adjourned upstairs to play
on the computer. Tom gave a demo of Microsoft Train Simulator. Very
nice if you are a dedicated train-head. A lot of discussion about
web site design and other web related subjects.
- Thanks to Tom and Holly for letting us play at their house. Pizza
was served with homemade cookes (yumm!). I tried the Fruit2O that
Tom drinks all the time and I can say the Cherry one has a nice
hint of cherry without being overpowering.
Highlights of the business meeting
- The purchase of the WamaLTC club polo shirts was approved. Constantine
will collect shirt sizes from everyone and process the order.
- Lee Avery, the event coordinator for the Manassas Railway Festival
stopped by to discuss our location within the festival. There were
three possibilities: 1) where we've always been,2) by the museum,
and 3) in the covered pavilion. It was decided to accept the covered
pavilion. It provides a covered roof (instead of a tent), a more
level surface than the parking lot (or the grass), easy access to
electricity, and a large display area.
